Knowing The "Paisas"

Pereira is the capital of the Department of Risaralda. Nicknamed "The querendona, night owl ("Trasnochadora") and Morena". In Colombia, the "paisa" term refers to the inhabitants of Antioquia, Risaralda, Caldas, Quindio and Norte del Valle Norte del Tolima. Linguistically speaking, the term describes a typical kind of language and intonation of the departments of Antioquia, Caldas, Risaralda and Quindio, and sociocultural refers to the distinctive customs of the departments of Antioquia, Caldas, Quindio, Risaralda, North Valley and North Tolima. That's why a "paisa" is considered primarily so, paisa, with virtually no class distinction or origin.  Normally, the people not said; terms as the "medellinense", "Manizalita" "Quindiano" "Risaraldense" as if is easy to hear "Bogotano", "Caleño", "Cartagenero", that are other departments of colombia.
